The country of clouds

Image
It never seizes to wonder, the flight. Up up and away! :D (Yes that's actually how my face looks like throughout the flight) (The first time I flew early morning towards Leh, I couldn't restrain my glee. My hands clutched at the handle not with fear but with hope to tame down my excitement. I would strain my neck to see out of the window. I couldn't help but laugh out loud with helpless blameless happinesss pouring out through my being. Well, many delays and lay overs later, the same excitement grips me on every single flight still.) Within moments you leave all that you have known. People shrink to impossible insignificance of small ants. Big imposing sky scrapers look like lego sets. As you peer down, you skip by distances so swiftly as if you have grown giant limbs and they are so far below that you can't feel them. Jumping over buildings and roads, my imaginary feet running with easy strides. And then comes the best part of it all. The clouds. :D Passing and...

Jealousy

was listening to Rob Dougan 's ' One and the same '. Its such a beautiful song. If you close your eyes while listening to it, it gives you a feeling of continuous upward motion. Not flying, but floating upwards. Like having achieved all that your life was meant for. A content smile playing on one's face powering the upward descent. (Hmm.. christian influence on me?) And then I saw a mosquito.. doing just about that. flying steadily upwards. I was jealous for a second there.

golf

i want to swing a sturdy long iron club (golf). swing with wild abandon, sending the ball the farthest it can go. i feel like driving the club on railway platforms waiting for the train... full bodied swing, 300 degrees; while crossing bridge hurtling the ball in air above the stalled traffic; on terrace sending the ball beyond all the visible buildings; office corridors sending the ball smashing through the window out in sunlight. vast open greens and utter freedom. wind and sand. golf is such a queer combination of freedom and precision. and i can afford neither.

flying

these days i feel a driving need to accelerate and go on random bike rides. maybe its simply the need to feel the wind on my face. MICA is cordoned with high walls of trees on all sides. no trespassing of strong winds allowed. :( . maybe its due to the fact that i have stopped waiting for people to be convinced to come with me or generally to follow my plan and now am much more comfortable doing things alone. (to tell the truth, i never push for my 'plans'.. I never know what constitutes fun for them and for the life of me, i won't ever impinge my ways onto others.. (mostly because fun to me is in total unknown. for most others its in confirmation of what they know.) ) *** ever driven in utter darkness with lights off? a little dangerous.. but not if the road is good and one which you know well. Thankfully, MICA is sufficiently out of city limits and as such one can experience the total darkness. Try it. The darkness above joins with the darkness below to form a continuum ...
