lightness of words

words. they fly out of an open mouth. mostly, without the brain noticing it.
they are ever so light and free. spend all you want, there's always more where they came from. they might not always have a form, a meaning. but that does not mean, they are inconsequential. Like for falling leaves in fall (how imaginative.. to call a season by an act so obvious), there are some ardent gazers, keen and mesmerized with that act of falling... watching it accumulate. for most sane others, it does not warrant a look. the ardent gazers follow the falling, knowing fully well that the words have died the moment they were born out of utterance. the soul escapes with a sound, and the dead carcass floats bottom on to decaying heap. there are insects there. waiting. slimy, pestilent. they chew off one word, and then another bite from another and so on. all the time leaving their disgusting saliva all over. they are the rumourers. But they are the ones to create the only reality. the mulch. the mulch is what we eat, and what we walk on. the memory and decisions past.
the word was light and free. it didn't mean anything... but for the ardent gazer.
this species of ardent gazers are a lost cause. they are the romantics. for them the miracle of sound, of letter, of gesture is not lost. well beyond their childhood, they continue to gaze wide-eyed-ly, with a smile on their face, and race in their crimson heart. They are fools. but they are the only ones alive. to be a fool is to live.
for them, the words are not light. they carry the weight of words, firstly by consuming a lot of it by the act of listening, seeing, reading and then by lending the word a purpose... that heaviness of purpose which was the cause of word being born eons ago.
purpose. a word which is lost in the thick jungle of contexts. only having carried the weight of words can one find a way out of that jungle. the lighter ones are blown away.

and here i die now...

would you also attribute vanity to them (words)?
make this a poem and you have something, otherwise this aint your TOEFL...

I am sorry if I seem too harsh but its because I didn't get a single word of this even when i gazed very ardently. guess I am one of those insects....

yes.. the words have a lot of vanity with this piece.. this post intentionally says a few things and doesn't say a few others.. its a moody piece and hence a little enigmatic.. (well attempt at it anyways.)
there is a certain efficiency to words whic narrows down the choice of it. i don't think i would have used any other kind of writing to write what i was feeling and what i wanted to write.

but yes, i am guilty of incomprehensive writing. i am only learning. i need to make my writing a little more accessible. i suck at it. will try henceforth.
